Problem installing gcc-c++ 3 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi friends,
I have been trying installing gcc on Mandriva 09 using following command

[root@localhost saurabh]#urpmi gcc-c++

but each time it fails
I also tried yum

[root@localhost saurabh]# yum install gcc gcc-c++

but it too fails saying
bash: yum: command not found

well saurabh,

i used to have mandriva a few months ago. I had the same problem once. But then I was able to install gcc on it.

As far as I remember when you try " urpmi gcc", Mandriva does not find the package. And I remember vaguely but I think you can try this:

Go to
easyurpmi.zarb.org

There you will find two options:

Add PLF media

&

Add Official Media

You add them one by one and then try

urpmi gcc

I think that would work. Just try it.
